When people say “Parkrose,” it can sometimes be difficult to know for certain what they are referring to. Are they talking about specifically the Parkrose neighborhood? The Parkrose School District or maybe Parkrose High School? Or maybe a more broad area, but if so, where does that area extend to?
I typically encounter “Parkrose” referring to a general area roughly coinciding with the school district boundaries. When I bought my house in Argay Terrace, the listing agent described it as a Parkrose home. Even people who’ve lived in the area for decades don’t always know the name of their neighborhood or the neighborhoods adjacent to them. They just say Parkrose without knowing where that area begins or ends.
Parkrose is a neighborhood, a school district, and the umbrella term for the general area. The map above is my best attempt to give boundaries to the Parkrose area even though it’s a bit different than the school district boundaries, which have never made sense to me anyway. You can also find a page for each neighborhood and its boundaries on this site, so click around and keep exploring Parkrose!
